Why specialising in insects gives a better result

Most companies in Latvia offer several kinds of treatment at once. We do insect control only, and there is a practical reason for that.

Every insect species has its own biology, its own development cycle and its own method that works against it. Bedbugs and cockroaches need completely different approaches even though both are insects: with bedbugs the eggs are decisive, with cockroaches it is the social structure of the colony that gel bait exploits. Pantry moths and clothes moths need different treatment even though both are moths.

What we treat

We deal with insects and related arthropods only. The most common in Riga and the surrounding area:

• In homes: bedbugs and bed bugs, cockroaches, fleas, ants, gnats, silverfish, spiders.
• Food and textile pests: pantry moths, clothes moths, stored-product and carpet beetles.
• Flying and outdoor pests: wasps, hornets, flies, mosquitoes, ticks on your grounds.
• In timber: woodworm.

What a 5-minute reply actually means

A pest problem rarely waits, and not just because it is unpleasant. With bedbugs, every day you wait means more eggs and wider spread — including into neighbouring apartments in a block. A cockroach colony grows exponentially. A wasp nest that is golf-ball sized in June is football-sized by August.

In practice this means acting quickly is also cheaper: a problem caught early needs a smaller treatment.

What pest control costs in Riga

Our prices are published rather than available on request. One-room apartment from €55, two-room from €60, three-room from €65, a house from €120. A repeat treatment, where one is needed, from €60.

Price depends on the area, how far the infestation has spread, the species and the method. Heat treatment costs more than chemical but often solves bedbugs in a single visit. For commercial properties we quote after a survey, because floor area and risk level vary too much for a single figure.

Being honest about what we can promise

There are things in pest control that cannot honestly be promised, and we don't promise them.

If you have bedbugs but the colony survives in a neighbouring apartment, no treatment can guarantee they won't come back — we can destroy what is in your property and build a barrier. If we treat your grounds against mosquitoes, they will fly in from next door. If you have fleas but the pet isn't treated in parallel by a vet, treating the property alone will not work.

We say this before the work, not after. And if a survey shows treatment isn't needed — autumn cluster insects, for instance, which don't breed indoors — we say that too.
